Hello! My name is Julie Helms and my husband is Dave. We have two grown daughters. I homeschooled them for ll years (plus a few years of cyberschooling). We live on a small farm which is the same property the store is located on.
I opened my first curriculum store in Indiana (Northern Indiana Curriculum Exchange) in 1998. After 2 and 1/2 years we moved to South Carolina, where I opened up my second store (The Curriculum Exchange). My husband’s work moved us again and we eventually moved back home to PA. I opened the store here in the spring of 2003. We have been growing ever since!
My name is Sarah Curtis, and my husband is Tim! I am Julie’s eldest daughter and was homeschooled up to high school.
I spent many years as a software engineer, but my love for books and education was never far away. I returned to college in 2023 where I earned a BA in Biblical Studies in 2024 and am currently still attending for an MDiv.
While I grew up with the store in each of its iterations, and have helped with projects on and off, in 2025 I officially began working with my mother in learning and running the business. My dream is to see the store flourish for another generation!
